I think you have a great topic and plan for your action research. Is the goal for change with students, staff, or both? I think you can use the sustaining improvement strategies to collaborate with colleagues and base your discussion on your findings. This can happen with "Nominal Group Technique." Is there going to be a staff development on strategies that you can teach to help with the improvements? I think that this can take place with a mini-inservice. Perhaps you can add researching information on techniques that emphasizes motivation or behavior before the mini-inservice takes place. I hope this helps.
ReplyDeleteWell I am hoping the changes will first begin with teacher attitudes and actions and then filter down to the students. I would like to focus on At Risks students and analyze Benchmark scores and ultimately TAKS/STAARS results. Since this whole principal thing is new to me I am going to take baby steps first with just presenting my findings and recommendations at grade level meetings first then with the rest of the faculty and staff based on the success of the action research plan. I will probably focuse on Force Field and Delphi before I tackle Nominal. Thanks for your recommendations and following my blog.
